Okay so there’s the Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City:the movie. Can anyone give me any other upto date movies that revolve around the fashion industry or glamourous lifestyles. I love watching fashion influenced films, what your favourites and recommendations?

Amelia of Montmarte! It’s a cute French movie. It’s got really nice, simple, “European” styles.

Grey Gardens is great for vintage inspiration and is just a wonderful film by itself.

These aren’t films about the fashion industry, but a lot of people (erm…me) consider them stylistically inspiring:
Breakfast at Tiffany’s (obvs)
Amelie
Bonnie and Clyde
Funny Face—Audrey Hepburn and is about the fashion industry
Contempt
Now, Voyager
A Woman Is A Woman

You should definitely watch Factory Girl. I saw some other people mention it and it’s very good. There’s also the movie “Coco Chanel” that came out on tv. I never watch Lifetime, but I saw that and it was actually very nice. There is also “Coco Before Chanel” a french movie on Coco Chanel. I haven’t seen it yet though.

Marie Antoinette with Kirsten Dunst is not up to date, but the movie is visually pleasing and amazing. I’d be at loss if you couldn’t find some kind of inspiration from it :)
