My daughter will be 13 beginning of July and the hair on her upper lip is getting pretty dark and she is starting to comment on it. Is there a safe and effective way to get rid of this hair? Also, how does it grow back?

I think threading is the best option in any case.It does’nt have any side effects.

you could get an epilator which removes hair by mechanically grasping multiple hairs simultaneously and pulling them out and instead of waxing or shaving which just takes the top of the hairs off, this removes the hairs completely from their roots.

If you wanna remove the hair permanently try turmeric… It is natural. apply paste of turmeric powder on it and remove after 10 to 15 mins.. try it out daily for 1 month.. definitely you can get rid of it. I’ve tried it… and bought the turmeric stuff here… http://www.emporiumonnet.com/beauty_health/kasthuri_manjal/Kasthuri-Manjal-Turmeric-Herbal-Powder.html

Try threading. A workmate volunteered to do threading on my right arm (just to show me how threading is done) and it has been two weeks but I’ve noticed that my arm is still smooth with scanty hair growth on it. So, it should work on hair lip, too.

Bleaching just leaves you with a blonde moustache. I say wax it. Threading is also good but you have to go to get it done. waxing you can do at home.

I use this little trimmer because I’m too cheap to get waxing done, haha

I thread my upper lip and it has amazing results. It is a bit painful, but definitely worth it!

I have black hair on my upper lip (hooray for genes!) and I pluck them, which is NOT fun! I also have an olive skin tone so bleaching is pretty much just as noticeable as leaving it as-is. My mom had electrolysis done on her lip about a million and a half years ago (I might not have even been born yet), but she only had one treatment and the right side grew back! The left side did not. Ever! Now, technology is much better, and I’ve been looking into laser hair removal, which is permanent. It takes several treatments, but I think never having to to deal with it again would be priceless!

There are also hair removal creams that you leave on for a few minutes and when you wipe it off, the hair comes right off. The hair grows back a little quicker than if you wax it, but it doesn’t come back thicker. Sally Hansen makes one.
