My brother and I have the same facial features, but different coloring. I have lighter eyes and skin and brown hair rather than black.
Would cutting my hair short and dying it black compliment my features as much as black hair compliments my brother’s, or would my paler skin color contrast too much with darker hair?

I think you should stick to what you have.

@RachelMichelle: Same length or same color? Or both?

@MopMustache: I meant same length, specifically. I don’t think it would look bad or anything, but I think your hair is very pretty the way it is, and if you did cut it short and/or dye it and didn’t like it, then you’d probably have a problem on your hands, haha.

I think pale skin and dark hair look beautiful. You’ll never really know until you try it^^

Worst case scenario: you cut it and dye it and you hate it. You love hats and hair scarves for the next twelve weeks.

On the other hand, hair grows back. You’re young, why not have fun? You won’t know if something suits it until you try it. How short do you want to cut it?

dark hair and pale skin looks beautiful…that’s my natural combination! Give it a shot :) if you accidentally cut your hair too short you can always girly it up with a bow headband. If you need any inspiration, use google. good luck!

@oiseaux: I was thinking about a short shag style or maybe an over-grown pixie cut; I’m aiming for very short. And I already have an affinity for hats. :)

Go for it. Do something crazy. Maybe even put some pink in it… You’re young. Get away with it while you can! ;)

Go for a dark chocolate brown. It’s less harsh than black. If you get a chance to see hair color swatches in a store hold them up to your wrist like you would try out a lipstick on the back of your hand.

Black is very demanding to pull off!
I’ve seen only a handfull of ppl do it well. For the cut, be bold! short is fun and flirty ;)
